St. Mary Mothers Club (SMMC) has just completed a Baby Formula collection for the babies of Jacmel, Haiti. Over the course of 2 weeks, the club collected a “trunk-load” of formula from members of the club & parish and monetary donations of $915! Half of the money was donated by members of the club, mothers helping children. The other half was donated by Jim Sullivan, father-in-law to Sarah Sullivan who is one of the club’s presidents. Jim’s wife, Angela Sullivan, passed away shortly after the earthquake hit. In lieu of flowers, many of her friends sent Jim donations for the charity of his choice. Overhearing Sarah talk about the club’s formula collection, he knew he found the perfect place.
The formula has been packaged and is ready to be shipped in a container with other supplies collected by Ridgefield Responds next week. The money has been sent to Haiti, by way of Unibank and is being used specifically to feed the babies of Jacmel.
Thank you to SMMC, St Mary’s parishioners, and Jim Sullivan. And a special thanks to Ridgefield Primary Care who heard about the collection and donated boxes of formula to our cause!

Look at the beautiful faces of the children we are feeding in Jacmel, outside Bonite’s center. After additional tremors, the kids are afraid to eat indoors so the center is working to feed them both indoors and out. Your donation of just $15 can feed one of these kids for an entire month! Donate today.
